Where ADVENTURE begins ...................

See the world like you've never seen it before

July 11 Depart D/FW airport for San Jose, Costa Rica
July 12 Following a day of touring San Jose and engaging in intercultural activities with Costa Rican Scouts, we will be guests at a special dinner hosted by the Scout Association of Costa Rica
July 13-14 Our two-day white water rafting journey on the Pacuare River begins! The Pacuare is rated one of the top 5 scenic white water rivers in the world.  We will spend the night in a jungle lodge, surrounded by some of the most interesting plant and animal life of the Americas.
July 15 A nature guide will take us on a special tour of the Tortuguero National Park, where we will have the rare opportunity to watch sea turtles lay their eggs in their natural environment.  We will also tour a native Costa Rican Indian village and the surrounding jungle area
July 16 Back to San Jose, where we will join with the Costa Rican Scouts for dinner and evening activities.
July 17 Off to Monteverde! Here we will hike through one of the only remaining cloud forests on Earth. We値l meet up with a local tour company who will send us soaring up over the tree tops  in a zip line tour of the cloud forest canopy.
July 18 The first part of the day will be spent traveling on horseback to the active volcano Arenal. We値l spend the afternoon soaking in the hot springs at the base of the volcano and return that evening to our hotel by taking a boat ride over Lake Arenal.
July 19 Before leaving Monteverde, we値l stop by the local  butterfly sanctuary to take a guided tour of the some of the rare insects that call Costa Rica home. On our trip back to San Jose, we値l stop in Sarchi to visit the native woodcraft workshops and also in Grecia where we will visit their world-famous metal cathedral. We値l spend the evening in San Jose, where we will end our journey and prepare to come home.
July 20 Return to Dallas.


Accommodations: We will spend the night in hotels.  No tents or sleeping gear are required for this trip.
