Itinerary

July 31 Depart DFW Airport for Stockholm, Sweden
August 1 We will begin adventure with a tour of Stockholm led by the Swedish Scouts. After a day of engaging in intercultural activities and learning about the historic city, we will attend a  welcome dinner hosted by the Swedish Scout Association
August 2 Following a morning of intercultural activities, we board the train for an overnight journey north of the Arctic Circle.
August 3 Welcome to the Land of the Midnight Sun!  We will be met at the train station by Saami tribesmen, who will escort us to their village.  There we will learn about the way of life of these reindeer herders, who will be our guides for our backpacking adventure.  We will dine with the tribe and spend the night in their village, sleeping in a traditional lodge.
August 4 - 8 Our hike begins! We will make our way through the tundra and mountains inside the Arctic Circle of Sweden with our Saami guides, using domesticated reindeer as pack animals.
August 9 Bidding a fond farewell to our Saami friends, we cross the border into Norway and prepare for the next phase of our adventure: kayaking the Norwegian fjords!
August 10 After receiving ocean kayaking instruction, we will paddle to an 8,000 year old site with prehistoric carvings few ever seen
August 11 - 15 Kayaking our way through the Norwegian fjords, we will have the opportunity to stop and visit cultural and historic sites along the way.  This is our chance to experience first hand the waters traveled by the Vikings for a thousand years.
August 16 Board the overnight train to Stockholm and the beginning of our journey home.
August 17 Return to Dallas.
